After graduating with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Swiss Polytechnic in Lausanne, I combined my understanding of spaces with my love for cinema, to make “The Sakakini Palace” - short documentary about a neglected palace in Downtown Cairo, Egypt. From this point on I understood that the only thing I wanted to do was to make films, and proceeded to lunge myself headfirst onto the hot iron rod which is independent filmmaking.
No pilgrimage of a contemporary artist would be complete without having been broke in Berlin and LA. In Berlin I worked on a variety of audio-visual content: from German ‘gangster rap’ videos, to infomercials that specialized in flogging single digit carat jewelry to unsuspecting Italian housewives. LA was kinder to me, and in 2014 I directed my first major label music video for the thought-provoking artist Busdriver (Big Dada/Ninja Tune), as well as do work on several short films for the acclaimed DeLaurentiis producers.
More recently I directed the short film “Notebook”, winning Best Director Award at the Los Angeles Film Awards (LAFA), and receiving honorable nods from the Independent Shorts Awards in LA (ISA), as well as theMadrid Indie Film Festival (MADRIFF).
I have since returned to my native Italy, where I continue to work with various record labels, agencies, artists, and anyone with an above average sense of humor.
